Artificial-intelligence transparency

In line with Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act), and in particular the transparency obligations of Article 50, we explain clearly here whether and how we use automated and artificial-intelligence systems on this website.

The site assistant

The site offers a “Need help?” assistant. It is an automated system, not a person: it answers using information already on the site (frequently asked questions, trip descriptions) based on the words you type. It is not a generative artificial intelligence and does not make up answers. When it cannot find a suitable answer, your question is forwarded to our team, who reply by e-mail.

Requests and decisions that concern you — quotes, bookings, support — always remain in the hands of people on our team.

AI tools we use behind the scenes

To work better we may use artificial-intelligence tools for internal tasks: for example to sort and triage the messages we receive, or to help translate the website’s texts. These tools do not make automated decisions about your trip: every reply and every proposal is checked by a person.

What we do not do

We do not use practices banned by the AI Act: no deceptive manipulation, no “social scoring”, no emotion recognition, no biometric categorisation. We do not profile visitors with artificial intelligence and we do not use your personal data to train AI models.

Questions or concerns

For any question about these tools you can write to booking@bikeandhikeitalia.com or via our Contact page.
