More than a bike trip...
This is the story of a dreamer, who one day, while he was intent on creating itineraries and estimates in his travel agency, looking out the window, caught his eye on two cyclists pedaling through the streets of his city, enchanted by the beauty of this town in the province of Brindisi. “Why not combine your two passions?” he wonders. “Why not show travelers the beauties of his land and at the same time make them travel those routes that he knows inside out, and which he has studied inch by inch, and which he covers as soon as he can with his bicycle?” Here in 2013 he made the decision to transform his travel agency into a tour operator specialized in cycle tourism.
Come to think of it, he is in the right place: Puglia! A land that offers a crystalline sea in which to dive after a long ride, sandy beaches where you can rest and stretch your limbs, cliffs from which to admire the horizon. The Apulians have looked at the horizon for many centuries, they have explored it and welcomed it. This is why the warmth that the inhabitants of Puglia give to those who come from afar is an ancient thing, which they give without distinction to those who come from afar.

The red ground enhances the blue color of the sky and the green of the prickly pears, with their colorful fruits, set in the landscape of Salento. And again, the green countryside of the Bari hinterland, full of luxuriant fruit trees, which give refreshment to travelers and walkers, and which offer the much needed shade during the long and sunny summer days. The rows of grapes, the centuries-old olive trees that remind us of monsters, wizards, gnomes, mythological animals. While the legs pedal, the mind flies with the imagination in Puglia! You enter ancient villages, where time seems to have stopped, where at certain times of the day there is no one on the street, just a few stray dogs, sprawled under a few pieces of shelter. Because people are closed in the cool of their houses with star-shaped ceilings that protect them from the summer heat. As if they had taken a break from their frenetic life for a couple of hours, the shutters down and the silence broken only by the tolling of bells, some child crying because they don't want to rest, unaware that after a few years they will regret that lost sleep that will never come back! But the Apulians are ready to go back to the streets every evening, in the squares, with their colorful festivals which in the summer brighten up the evenings with dance and music. The smell of the sauce on Sunday morning that inebriates the streets of towns and cities is also poetry, the meatballs at the home of the Apulian nonnas, the orecchiette, the braciole (chops of meet). It's not just about eating: for the Apulians, cooking is an act of love. It is not uncommon to meet a friend on the street and be asked "what did you have for lunch?" instead of "how are you?". Don't worry, he's just reassuring you that you had a good time with someone you love. All this is best understood by going slowly, pedaling, stopping often, letting the wind carry you, and sometimes pedaling against it. That's why choosing to take a trip to Puglia by bicycle, moreover the roads are many and offer different alternatives to reach any point of the region through paths immersed in greenery and with little traffic.
